Grooming log · in-between baths
I’m Leny. Kai is the boss. Red merle Aussie, born July 2024. If you searched australian shepherd waterless bath spray, I can name the bottle that actually sits by the door.
The Arm & Hammer for Pets Ultra Fresh Waterless Bath Spray, White Jasmine is Kai-tested. Great in between baths to freshen him up. I am not going to sell it as a bath. I still wash him. I still dry him. I still rake him. This is the bottle for the days in the middle.
Honest flaw, said first: it is not a bath, it is not a deshedder, and it smells like white jasmine. If you hate floral, this is not your bottle. If you think a mist will pull undercoat in sheets, buy the Maxpower rake. This spray is hygiene-between-washes. That is the whole job.
Arm & Hammer Ultra Fresh, White Jasmine. Between baths. Not instead of baths.
Kai actually wears this spray on the days I am not hauling him into the tub. Freshens. Helps the “you rolled in something” hour without a full TropiClean-and-Shernbao production. Honest flaw: it does not replace a bath, it does not stop shedding, and jasmine is the scent you get. I would buy it again for the in-between. I would not skip wash day because the bottle is handy.

Why I even own a waterless spray
A double coat plus a real bath is an evening. TropiClean, towels, Shernbao, then the rake once he is dry. I am not doing that because he walked through a dusty park and now smells like the park. I also am not putting a dirty dog on the couch and calling it “natural.”
The Arm & Hammer spray is the middle path I actually used. Mist, work it in with my hands, wipe what comes off, let him air. He smells like a person who tried. That is enough for a Thursday. Kai-tested
Who I am: I’m Leny. Kai is the boss. The full wash stack is in the dryer post and the brush post. Older coat-blow log: shedding.
What it is not
It is not a bath. If he is actually filthy, muddy, skunk-adjacent, or it has been too long, I wash him. TropiClean Perfect Fur is the shampoo. The Shernbao is how he gets dry. Skipping that because a spray exists is how you get a greasy double coat and then blame the breed.
It is not a deshedder. Undercoat comes out with the Maxpower Planet Original Pet Grooming Rake — $10.88, March 12, 2025, the tool I loved, amazing for the price, does not stop shedding, relocates undercoat. Slicker and comb after. Spray does not pull wool.
It is not a perfume I would pick for myself. White jasmine is the scent in the bottle we have. If floral on a dog bothers you, this listing is the wrong listing. I am not going to invent a “fragrance-free Kai-tested twin” I did not buy.
How I actually use it
Not in his eyes. Not soaked to the skin like I am trying to skip the tub. A pass on the coat, hands through the ruff and the back, a towel if he is dripping product. Then we go inside. If he still smells like the thing he rolled in, that was never a spray problem. That is bath night moving up.
I do not spray him and then immediately rake. Damp dragging is how you scratch. If it is blow week and he needs the Maxpower, I wait until the coat is dry. Same rule as after a real bath. The dryer post is louder. This bottle is quieter. The sequence still matters.
I keep it out of eyes, ears, and anything that looks like a hot spot. If the skin is pink, angry, or bald, I am not misting jasmine over a medical problem. That is a vet. I have not invented a Kai diagnosis to sell a bottle.
I also do not use it as a daily dry-shampoo habit so I can skip TropiClean forever. Double coats get dirty in a way a spray cannot reach. The in-between is real. The forever-skip is how you get a greasy ruff and a couch that smells like a bottle. Thursday tool. Not a lifestyle.

What held up
- Great in between baths. Thursday problem, Thursday tool
- Faster than a full TropiClean-and-dryer night
- Kai tolerated it. I did not have to wrestle a cyclone for a dusty walk
- I would buy the bottle again
What didn’t — including the honest flaw
- Not a bath. Filthy still means wash day
- Not a deshedder. Undercoat does not care about jasmine
- White jasmine is the scent. If you hate floral, skip this listing
- Does not stop shedding. Nothing I own does
Spray, then the rest of the house
If it is blow week, spray is not the plan. Rake. Comb. Bag. The Dreame L40 Ultra Gen 2 gets the floor. Re-check the harness when the coat is flatter. Orange leash clip died at ~6 months, clipped to the harness, harness held. Leash. Harness.
I will not claim Orijen Six Fish or the home-cooked bowl made him smell like jasmine. Coat and skin are food, thyroid, season, washing, luck. Food. Health. A bored, smelly Aussie is also a training problem. Training. Crate settle: crate train your Aussie puppy. The crate he loved is the MidWest iCrate.
